Easter Lessons: Part II

OK,  I'll cut straight to the chase

I learnt so many things at the Kingdom Diplomats Gathering but I'm going to dish out the strongest points in brief.

Pastor Paul, Set Man at Word Encounter Ministries, Jos, Nigeria, teaches biblical principles in form of stories and parables. I love the way he put his points side by side like a scientist/philosopher. They have a way of appealing to both spirit and soul at the same time.

1. He started one of his sessions with this very interesting question.

"If you could cut God open, what would you find inside Him?"

Puzzling shey (right)?

The answer is 'man'. Psalm 8:4 "What is man, that You are mindful of him..."

Meaning, all God thinks about is man (and His plans towards him) . That shows how much He cares for us.

2. Just as the first Adam fell into a deep sleep (a form of death) and Eve was created from his side, so also, the last Adam (Christ) died (which is actually a form of sleep) and the Church (His bride) was born out of Him.

3. He talked about how everyone in Christ, must come to a threshold and die a form of death in order to fulfill destiny. (Cut off ties with a lifestyle, places, people, things) Ruth, Abraham etc, or even life itself as seen in the life of Jesus.

4. In life, while seeking to achieve your purpose in God, you should give your heart and soul in your pursuit but you must do it within the confines of your calling. Set boundaries, don't involve yourself in everything or fight battles that are not yours. You'd wear yourself out and end up with no spoils. Then he asks another interesting question towards the close of the session.

"A River without banks is called what?"

The answer is 'a flood', it blesses no one.

Pastor Taiwo Lemoshe, Senior Pastor, God's Chamber, I loved his sincerity as a minister and his voice while worshipping.
He emphasized again and again the central truth of the theme of the programme;

1. Jesus is the pattern son, and we must align to look like Him. God will  keep on working on us till we end up looking like Him so that we reflect the image of Christ. But we must yield to be worked on and we must keep still under God's surgical knife till his work is complete.

2. The reality of the Holy Ghost was seen in the physical results shown by Daniel and Joseph in their spheres of influence. This must transcend church into our work places and our homes. It should not be on Sundays alone that people know we are Christians. We must carry the life and wisdom of God wherever we find ourselves, affecting people, places and events for good. We don't just quote the word, we live the word.

3. Partakers of the Heavenly Calling also includes that we are partakers of His sufferings - a part many Christians don't like to hear. There are things we must forgo, insults from mockers etc. But you should give God the glory and thanks in all things. In good times, in bad times God is God and He is good, working everything together for our good. That's how we count God faithful and that's how God counts us faithful. Many of we believers today don't want to pass through any affliction so we always look for ways to cut corners.

He gave examples where tragic events rocked his church early this year. He ordered that heavy Praise and Thanksgiving with dancing should be given to God, which is contrary to human standards. In taking that action, he seized the spirit of depression by the neck before it descended on the members and God took control and ultimately the glory.

I will like to end with one of his quotes,

'If you don't suffer some 'light affliction', you can't carry some kind of 'weight of glory', sorry.

Pastor Dele Osunmakinde, Senior pastor, The Baptizing Church. Teacher per excellence, rightly dividing the word of truth. Blunt, says things as they are, without pampering anybody.

He talked about the Purpose of the Church
As the Ecclesia, (God's body) we should be able to shut down the operations of the devil and his host wherever we are. A characteristic of the church, is that it is comprised of people who carry the Spirit of God. Wherever the Ecclesia goes, people are either moved or filled with the Spirit. Those who carry contrary spirits will be confronted (just like the demons in the Gadarene Madman were casted out when Jesus appeared) and those who carry the same spirit of God will be filled (just like Elizabeth was upon hearing the voice of Mary).

He split up the Christian life into the Church and Kingdom. Church is where we as a body come to be exhorted, re-energized, re-filled and fellowship but we don't end in the church but go out there into the Kingdom and claim territories and establish righteousness for the King.

He said something I have never heard before.

We might make some mistakes in Church and get away with it but not in the Kingdom. The judgement here is strict. One can be struck with many blows or replaced if one messes up. God's will and name is at stake.

Lastly, I will point out how he stressed on the epidemic that is ravaging now the youth and young ministers, who take on social media and insult the fathers. He said, they were sowing seeds of rebellion without knowing which will bring forth fruit when it was time to ascend to such heights.

We are one body, if we have no right to yell at each other until we have prayed for each other first.

I hope these words were forceful enough tonight.

More lessons coming your way tomorrow.
